Turkey's FM meets Moro Muslim Chairman over peace talks

Talks started among Philippines, the biggest Muslim organization MILF, and International Contact Group on December 8.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu met on Thursday with Chairman Haci Murat Ibrahim of Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and its executive for foreign affairs Adnan Alim.

Turkish Foreign Ministry Spokesman Burak Ozugergin, responding to a question about the meeting, said Davutoglu briefed MILF executives about the peace process and the "International Contact Group" which was established aiming to provide international support to peace talks that resumed between the government of the Philippines and MILF.

Ozugergin said Turkey joined the International Contact Group in November together with Japan and Britain upon an invitation by the related parties.

Ozugergin underlined that Turkey would continue to support international efforts for a peaceful solution to the problem.
