Russia, Turkey reaffirm plan to ease mutual access of goods to home markets

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and his Turkish counterpart Binali Yildirim reaffirmed plans to facilitate mutual access of goods to the states' domestic markets, Sputnik reported.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and his Turkish counterpart Binali Yildirim reaffirmed plans to facilitate mutual access of goods to the states' domestic markets during a phone conversation, the Russian government said in a press release on Thursday.

"Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister of Turkey Binali Yildirim held a phone conversation. During the conversation they discussed the implementation of agreements on the development of bilateral cooperation, which were reached during December 6, 2016, talks in Moscow…. In the context of expanding trade and economic cooperation the intention of the both parties to take concrete steps to facilitate mutual access of the Russian and Turkish goods to the markets of the two countries has been confirmed," the press release read.

The parties also agreed to intensify joint work on major projects in the energy sphere, including the construction of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant and the Turkish Stream pipeline.

According to the press release, Medvedev and Yildirim stressed the importance of joint actions in fighting against terrorism.
