Iran selling smuggled Mercedes, Porsche as scrap iron

There are 13 smuggled Mercedes Benz and Porsche cars that Iran will sell as scrap iron, according to spokesman of the Staff to Fight Good Smuggling Qassem Khorshidi.

According to the law, all smuggled goods should either be deported from the country or scrapped and no entity is authorized to redistribute them, Khorshidi said, Tasnim news agency reported August 14.

The cars will be scrapped next week and transferred to the Organization for Collection and Sale of State-owned Properties of Iran (OCSSPI), he said, noting that the Russian government last year conducted a similar action.
