Turkey’s revenues from tourism fall sharply

In the second quarter of 2015, Turkey's revenues from tourism fell sharply compared to the same period last year, said the message of the Turkish Statistical Institute July 31.

In the second quarter of this year, Turkey's tourism revenues decreased by 13.8 percent and amounted to $7.733 billion.

The message said that of the total income received by Turkey from tourism in the second quarter, $5.95 billion fell on foreign tourists, $1.77 billion - on Turkish citizens living abroad.

The country’s incomes from tourism rose in 2014 by 6.2 percent compared with the same figures for 2013 standing at $34.305 billion, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).
