Turkey’s protests can lead to loss of confidence in country - Davutoglu

The protests in different Turkish towns can lead to a loss of confidence in the country, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said on Monday, CNN Turk TV channel reported.

According to Davutoglu, Turkey will successfully cope with the situation.

The rallies are being held in various Turkish towns to support the protesters in the Gezi park on Taksim Square in downtown Istanbul. The protesters oppose the destruction of the park

The police used tear gas and water cannons to disperse the protesters..

According to the Turkish Interior Ministry, some 58 people were injured and over 730 people were detained.

The 6th Istanbul Administrative Court decided to suspend the construction of the 'Topcu K?slas?' shopping center on Taksim Square.
