President of Georgia nominated the leader of Bidzina Ivanishvili's coalition, which won the parliamentary elections in Georgia, for prime minister. As Georgian President's spokesperson Manana Manjgaladze said at a press briefing on Wednesday, in accordance with the 80th Article of the Georgian Constitution Ivanishvili should form and present a new government to the Parliament for approval within 10 days.
Bidzina Ivanishvili has nominated candidates for the new Georgian government.
Ivanishvili said that after the government is approved, structural changes will be made to it and the Cabinet of Ministers will be changed again. Ivanishvili has held consultations on the formation of new Cabinet of Ministers since Oct.4.
Candidates for ministers, by agreement with the current government and Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, are already getting familiar with the work of their future ministries.
The new Cabinet of Ministers will be approved by late October, after the new parliament will be convened and will work on Oct.21.
Parliamentary elections were held in Georgia on October 1. Around 14 parties and two political blocs participated in the elections.
According to full the preliminary data of the Georgian Central Election Commission, the Georgian Dream coalition will receive 85 seats in the parliament, and the United National Movement, 65.
