The fight again terrorism in Turkey will be continued with no tolerance, no matter how difficult, Turkish President Abdulla Gul wrote on his Twitter account. Turkey has started the transfer of military equipment to the border with Iraq.
According to general staff's office, Turkey is going to launch an operation against the terrorists of the Kurdistan's Workers' Party under the code name of 'Autumn cleaning'.
Reportedly the Turkish government appealed to Parliament for a prolongation of mandates on trans-border operations against military personnel of the Kurdistan's Workers' Party.
The terms of the previous mandate will be over on October 17. The new mandate will supposedly be issued for a period of one year. The mandate for trans-border operations covers the whole territory of Northern Iraq.
The conflict between Turkey and the Workers' Party of Kurdistan, demanding the establishment of an independent Kurdish state, has continued for 25 years. The Kurdistan's Workers' Party is recognised as terrorist organisation by the UN and EU.
