Iran's Varzegan city in East Azerbaijan province was hit by another earthquake last night, Fars news reported.
According to Fars, the 4.6 quake occured on 22:03 by local time. The quake was also felt in Tebriz city of East Azerbaijan.
For the past week Iran's Varzegan city has been hit by various scale quakes more than 769 times.
On August 11, a 6.4-magnitude earthquake rocked the city of Ahar, near the provincial capital of Tabriz, at 15:53 local time. The quake struck 60 kilometers northeast of Tabriz at a depth of 9.9 kilometers.
Another quake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale jolted Varzegan and Haris districts, which are located near Ahar, 11 minutes later at a similar depth. The epicenter of the quake was 49 kilometers northeast of Tabriz.
According to latest reports, 306 people are reported dead, and there are over 3,000 of injured ones.
