New president of OSCE PA to visit Georgia soon

10 July 2012 [12:20] - TODAY.AZ
New President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (PA), Riccardo Migliori will visit Georgia in the coming days. He told Georgian journalists in Monaco about it following his election as president of the OSCE PA yesterday.

According to Migliori, some time ago he was in Batumi and met with Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili.

"In the coming days I will again visit Georgia. This country's future is very important for OSCE and that is why we have adopted a resolution on Monday in support of Georgia and its territorial integrity, calling on Russia to fully fulfill the Agreement dated August 2008," he said.

Military actions were launched in the Georgian territory, South Ossetia on Aug.8 in 2008. Later the Russian troops occupied the Tskhinvali city and drove the Georgian military back. Russia recognized the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia in late August. In response, Tbilisi broke off diplomatic relations with Moscow and announced two unrecognized republics as the occupied territories.
