The agreement on free movement in the area of the David Gareji monastery complex is valid with Azerbaijan, Georgian deputy Foreign Minister Nino Kalandadze said at a traditional briefing on Monday.
She denied some Georgian media reports which claimed that Azerbaijani border guards once again prevented the movement of pilgrims through that part of the complex which is located on the Azerbaijani territory.
"The agreement concerned the non-prevention of movement of pilgrims and clerics through the territory of the complex, rather than withdrawing Azerbaijani border guards from the territory of the monastery complex," she said. "This agreement works."
She stressed that the agreement will be valid until the operations on border delimitation are over.
