'Iran will not need Hamas's help in case of war'

Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh says Iran will not need help from the Palestinian resistance movement in the event of a military confrontation with Israel.

"Iran did not ask anything from us and we think Iran is not in need of us," Haniyeh told Reuters in an interview on Thursday.

He added that the Israeli threats have been declared and they are not in need of analysis, “but I think such an issue would have grave consequences on the entire region."

"I cannot predict the scenarios but a battle of this kind would have repercussions for the region," the 48-year-old Hamas leader pointed out.
