The Second South Caucasus Youth Parliament, which will bring together students from Georgia and Armenia, opens today, Tuesday in Tbilisi. As the Konrad Adenauer Foundation said, a joint declaration will be adopted for submission to the European Parliament at the Youth Parliament meeting, held as part of the project 'Democracy Starts with You!'
Georgian Education and Science Minister, Dimitri Shashkin, Armenian Education Ministry representatives, deputy head of the EU Delegation to Georgia Boris Iarochevitch will attend the opening ceremony.
'The ''Democracy Starts with You!' project, guiding principle is that democracy has to be experienced; it cannot be learned from books alone and enables teachers of the South Caucasus region to acquire the skills of civic education that will help their students to transfer the principles of democracy into practice', the Foundation said in its report.
