U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Celeste Wallander will today arrive in Tbilisi.
As Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Nino Kalandadze said, the visit is a result of Georgian and the U.S. presidents' meeting, which was held in Washington on Jan.30. It aims at deepening of cooperation in military sphere. In particular, the negotiations between the parties on this issue enter the technical level.
"The Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense will hold meetings at the Georgian Defense Ministry, which will define concrete directions of cooperation. Georgia is vitally interested in improving its defense capabilities," Kalandadze said. The U.S. delegation's visit will end on Feb.24.
