Belarusian Prime Minister arrives in Baku - UPDATE

Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich has kicked off an official visit to Azerbaijan.

Belarusian Prime Minister was welcomed at the Ganja International Airport.
Myasnikovich started his visit by laying flowers at the monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev in the city center.

Then, Belarusian Premier visited mausoleum of Nizami Ganjavi, prominent Azeri poet and thinker. He was informed on the repair and reconstruction work in the mausoleum. The guest signed a guest book here.

The Belarusian official also attended the opening of the new shop to assemble refuse vehicles at the “Ganja Automobile Plant”. He familiarized himself with activity of the facility.

Azerbaijani Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov also attended the event.

Speaking in the opening ceremony, director of the Ganja Automobile Plant Khanlar Fatiyev briefed the guests on the achievements of the plant in a short period of time. He noted in accordance with the agreement signed with Minsk Automobile Plant, the facility has assembled 1300 MAZ vehicles and 400 Belarus tractors to date.

According to the agreement with Minsk Automobile Plant and German Haller Company, the facility is planned to assemble 100-150 new vehicles every year. Beside in Azerbaijan, the vehicles will be sold in Turkey and Georgia.
Following the opening, four memorandums were signed among Azerbaijani, Belarusian and German companies.

Speaking in the event, Belarusian Premier noted achievements of the Ganja Automobile Plant demonstrates close economic ties between Azerbaijan and Belarus. “Signing of documents would be economically useful for three countries”, he added.

The same day, Belarusian Prime Minister left for Baku.

Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich arrived here following the Ganja visit.

A guard of honor was lined up for the President at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport decorated with the national flags of Azerbaijan and Belarus. Prime Minister of Belarus was welcomed here by Azerbaijani counterpart Artur Rasizade and other officials.

Prime Minister of Belarus and Premier of Azerbaijan had a short talk at a VIP lounge of the airport.
