Azerbaijani MP: Arrests in U.S. show world another threat in face of Armenian terrorism

18 February 2011 [17:22] - TODAY.AZ
The arrest of criminal elements of Armenian origin in California showed that the world faced another threat - the Armenians, Azerbaijani Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee member Zahid Oruj told Trend.

“The United States disclosed terrorist elements - organized criminal groups, which engaged in arms smuggling and planned to influence the processes in the world through a large black capital, about which we spoke and wrote," he said.

The U.S. Prosecutor’s Office reported that the law enforcement agencies arrested members of the Armenian ethnic criminal group "Armenian Power" in Southern California. Gang members are accused of racketeering, murder, robbery and other crimes. 102 gang members have been charged. Law enforcement authorities say the group perpetrated numerous acts of violence and had links with other criminal groups.

Not only Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani people, but the whole world is target of the Armenian criminals, Oruj said.

"The U.S. State Department, given these facts, should include all Armenian groups in the report documents related to the fight against global terrorism. They hide behind civilized names – NGOs and humanitarian organizations, but their activities are known," he added.

Oruj said a part of the Armenian budget is formed at the expense of aid allocated by the Armenian diaspora, which in turn is funded by such criminal elements. The financial turnover of all Armenian lobbying organizations should be controlled.

"A large-scale fight against black trafficking has been launched in the world following the September 11 attack and any suspicious financial sources are checked after this,” Oruj said.
