CoE appoints new head to Baku Office - UPDATE

Greece's former representative at the Council of Europe (CoE) Constantin Yerocostopoulos has been appointed new CoE Special Representative in Azerbaijan, the CoE told Trend.

The new head of CoE office in Baku will take up his post at early March. Yerocostopoulos began his diplomatic career at the Greek Foreign Ministry. He worked in the diplomatic missions in different countries.

Yerocostopoulos led the EU observation mission in Yugoslavia in 1994. He was the Greek Ambassador to Croatia in 1995-1998 and to Italy in 2000-2004.

Yerocostopoulos was Permanent Representative of Greece to the Council of Europe in 2004-2008 and the CoE Secretary General’s Special Representative in Serbia in 2008. He has proved himself as a career diplomat.
