The events, taking place in the Middle East, are unlikely to impact on Central Asia and Azerbaijan, new head of IMF mission in the country, deputy director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department, Nadeem Ilahi, said at a press conference following the visit to Azerbaijan.
"It is difficult to assess the events in the Middle East and their influence on other countries. The IMF experts are trying to analyze this issue. However, I believe that Azerbaijan and Central Asian region are not associated closely with the Middle East by trade, political and economic ties. The impact of events occurring in the Middle East is unlikely to be made. But on the other hand, today all countries are interconnected," Ilahi said.
