Azerbaijani President approves several intergovernmental agreements

Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree approving a series of intergovernmental agreements, the AzerTac state news agency reported.

The decree approved the Agreement on cooperation in combating illicit trafficking in narcotics, psychotropic substances and their precursors, which was signed between the Azerbaijani National Security Ministry and the Russian Federal Drug Control Service in Baku on Jan.14, 2011, the Agreement on guardianship of the Child and Family Support Centers signed between the Azerbaijani government and the American organization Save the Children on Dec.29, 2010, the Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and Kuwait signed on Jan.10, 2011 and the Riga agreement on mutual administrative assistance and exchange of information on tax compliance signed between the Azerbaijani Tax Ministry and Latvian State Revenue Service on Jan.17, 2011, as well as a Memorandum of Understanding on the sale and transportation of natural gas signed between the Azerbaijani Industry and Energy Ministry and the Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Ministry in Istanbul on 7 June 2010.

The Azerbaijani National security Ministry, State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, Cabinet of Ministers, Tax Ministry and Industry and Energy Ministry were tasked to ensure execution of the relevant agreements.

The Foreign Ministry was instructed to notify the relevant parties on the implementation of internal procedures required for entry into force of the approved agreements.
