The Azerbaijani opposition Citizens and Development Party plans to hold the congress this year, chairman of the party Ali Aliyev said.

He said that the political bureau, a collegial body of the party, will make a decision on the date of the congresssoon.
"During the congress it is planned to discuss some organizational issues arising from the statute, and re-form the staff of elected bodies. The strategic line of the party is not expectedto be changed," he said.
The center-right Conservative Citizens and Development Party was established in 2006 by a group of former members of the Azerbaijan National Independence Party.
Azerbaijani opposition parties Musavat and Popular Front Party also announced about the plans to hold congresses this year.
