Azerbaijani ombudsperson meets Iraqi ambassador

Suleymanova praised “friendship” ties between Azerbaijan and Iraq, which, she said, have rich history and culture.

They discussed various issues of mutual interest, including cooperation on human rights.
Suleymanova briefed the diplomat about activities of her office, saying it attaches “great” significance to cooperation with NGOs, international organizations, as well as embassies of foreign countries in Azerbaijan.

She said National Action Plan on Human Rights Protection is “successfully” being implemented in the country. The Iraqi ambassador said his country is interested in further boosting cooperation with Azerbaijan in all fields, including human rights.
