MP: Azerbaijan experiences problems with enforcement of judicial decisions

There are problems with enforcement of judicial decisions in Azerbaijan, Deputy Head of the Parliamentary Apparatus' Department for Legislation on State Building Latif Huseynov said.

He said 19 out of 45 decisions adopted by the European Court against Azerbaijan relate to a violation of the courts decisions' provided in Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.

"This suggests that there are problems in this area, and there should be taken acts to address them. It includes comprehensive measures relating to legislation, judicial practice and performance," Huseynov at the round-table discussion" Azerbaijan and the Council of Europe: Cooperation in the field of human rights "held at the organization of the Ombudsman Apparatus on Wednesday.

The courts while making decisions should base on the experience of the European Court of Human Rights, he added.
