
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych intends to pay an official visit to Azerbaijan this year.
"I plan to visit Azerbaijan at the time convenient for you and me this year for us to continue our friendly political and strategic dialogue on Azerbaijani territory," he said during his meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart in Davos within the World Economic Forum on Friday, Interfax-Ukraine reported.
Yanukovych stressed the active bilateral dialogue. In particular, he stressed that growth in trade turnover between the two countries was indicated in 2010. New kinds of activity in the bilateral cooperation were revealed. The trade in fuels and lubricants significantly intensified.
President Ilham Aliyev said that he considers the relations between Ukraine and Azerbaijan in the future as very ambitious, comprehensive and long-term.
He also stressed that the two countries increase a political dialogue, and actively cooperate in the economic sphere and, above all, energy. Aliyev said this allows us to develop comprehensive cooperation between the two countries in the Black and Caspian seas.
