Azerbaijani and U.S. emergency situations agencies discuss combating consequences of floods and emergency situations

The consultations on combating the consequences of floods and emergency situations were launched between representatives of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations and their U.S colleagues in Baku on Monday, the press-service of the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan told Trend.

The workshops will be held by the end of the week. The specialists of the U.S Corps of Engineers take part in the consultations from the U.S side.

More than 40 regions were flooded last year. About 20,000 homes were flooded, 300 houses were destroyed, 2,000 homes were partially destroyed, and over 50,000 hectares of pasture were inundated.
