24 January 2011 [10:22] - TODAY.AZ
The European Union`s position on the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan remains unchanged, European Union special representative for South Caucasus Peter Semneby told journalists here Sunday.

The diplomat said he would confer with Azerbaijan`s government officials during his visit and meet with ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova and civil society representatives.

“I am curious about foreign policy issues following the Azerbaijan trip of the European Commission head. Discussions on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution is on the agenda. We are concerned over the Karabakh problem`s remaining unsolved. We pay attention to all attempts to settle the conflict,” he said.

Semneby noted EU`s stance on Azerbaijan did not change. According to him, European Union recognizes territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and that is why there must not be any speculations on the matter. He pointed out there are principles to solve the Nagorno-Karabakh problem, which must be observed.
