Flags lowered across Azerbaijan to mark 21st anniversary of Black January

State flags have been lowered across Azerbaijan as the country marks the 21st anniversary of the Black January events. As a result of the operation carried out by the USSR ministries of defense and internal affairs and State Security Committee, 134 innocent civilians were brutally killed in capital Baku and more than 600 people were wounded. The operation also resulted in unprecedented damages.

People in Azerbaijan never forget horrors of the Black January and express hatred for the executors of those murderous deeds.
