Latvian media spotlights official visit of Azerbaijani president

Official visit of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Latvia was in the center of attention of the Latvian mass-media, the most popular news information releases of the press, "electronic" mass-media and Internet portals reported. On the end of visit of the head of the Azerbaijani state to Riga the Latvian mass media made comments on its fruitful results.

The Internet portal DELFI.lv, in particular, marks: "Aliyev has highly appreciated political dialogue with Latvia, having noted that in economy and culture spheres there are many possibilities for development". Further, the article underlines: "Zatlers and Aliyev have also signed the joint statement in which they stress necessity of the peace settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. The parties express respect for independence and territorial integrity of Latvia and Azerbaijan.

Presidents of two countries have expressed readiness to continue cooperation in such spheres as trade, defense, communications, transport and logistics, civil aircraft, tourism, medicine, science, education, etc", the site writes.

An article on the Latvian multimedia news portal marks that the presidents are for increase of bilateral potential of cooperation between Latvia and Azerbaijan.

“According to President Ilham Aliyev, though political relations between the countries are high level, in economy and culture sphere still is there is great potential to what testifies also the Latvia-Azerbaijan business forum joined by more than 50 representatives from Azerbaijan”, the Latvian press reports.

The Latvian internet portals write about visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Riga: "The aim of President Ilham Aliyev`s visit was strengthening of economic and cultural cooperation of both countries. Relations of two states develop positively enough".

“Economic cooperation of Latvia and Azerbaijan can be carried out in such directions as power and transport,” the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has stated at the Latvia-Azerbaijan business forum”, other Internet portal marks.

The Latvian media estimates the business forum as an important event for exchange of views and search of new contacts. “President Aliyev stated that strengthening of relations between Latvia and Azerbaijan will strengthen also relations of this country with the EU".
