Kazakh ambassador: Caspian Sea must be region of effective integration

"The Caspian region must become a region of effective integration and economic cooperation in the interests of the whole world," the ambassador told Trend.

"Our common task in the Caspian Sea is to establish a fully mutually beneficial partnership, to find the answers to modern challenges together and to strengthen stability in the Caspian region", the diplomat said at a press-conference dedicated to the 19th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence.

The ambassador called the Summit of Heads of Caspian States, held in Baku on November 18 as a landmark event. He said that a constructive dialogue and mutual understanding between the Caspian littoral countries give us hope that the agreement on the convention on the legal status of the Caspian sea will be reached by common efforts in the nearest future.
