Azerbaijan, Italy sign agreement on visa free travel

Azerbaijan and Italy have signed an agreement to cancel visa requirements for those who hold diplomatic and service passports.
The document was signed by Azerbaijan's Deputy FM Khalaf Khalafov and his Italian counterpart Alfredo Mantica. Prior to the signing ceremony, the Italian Deputy FM met Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.

Mammadyarov praised Azerbaijan-Italy relations and hailed cooperation both in the bilateral format and within international organizations. The Minister said the two countries have big potential to expand mutual cooperation.

Mantica stressed Italy was interested in expanding cooperation in not only oil sector, but also in the non-energy sector with Azerbaijan. They stressed the importance of intensifying relations between the two countries` parliaments. The sides also underlined the importance of the Eastern Partnership project.
