30 November 2010 [15:07] - TODAY.AZ
The Union of Azerbaijani Diaspora Organizations in Kazakhstan has sent a statement to the participants of the OSCE summit in Astana, demanding the restoration of the rights of refugees from Nagorno Karabakh, Chairman Vidadi Salahov told Trend.

"The union, on behalf of the tens of thousands of refugees from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan residing in Kazakhstan, registered this appeal with the OSCE secretariat," he said.

The OSCE summit will be held in Astana on Dec. 1-2 and bring together the presidents and prime ministers of 56 OSCE member countries and 12 OSCE partner countries, as well as the heads of 68 international organizations. One of the issues to be discussed at the summit is the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Salahov said the appeal demonstrates that there are thousands of Azerbaijani refugees who want their rights to be restored.

"The Armenian government is responsible for their seizing land and property," he said.

Salahov added that he intends to meet with the Azerbaijani delegation that will attend the summit to work together to disseminate the appeal at the summit.

According to Salahov, a copy of the address has also been submitted to the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.
