Baku hosts international conference on 15th anniversary of Azerbaijan's Constitution

An international conference “constitutional mechanisms of safeguarding human rights and freedoms” co-organized by the Azerbaijan Constitutional Court, Confederation of Lawyers, Venice Commission and GTZ was held here Friday.

Opening the event, Chairman of the Azerbaijan`s Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev pointed out the event is dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Azerbaijani Constitution.

The event brought together chairmen and representatives of the European Court of Human Rights and constitution oversight bodies from Turkey, Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, Germany, Austria, Kazakhstan and Moldova and other international organizations.

Speaking at the conference Deputy Chairman of the MIlli Majlis Ziyafet Asgarov underlined the importance of the event.
