Azerbaijan registers observers from about 70 countries to observe parliamentary elections

Azerbaijan has registered 859 international observers from 69 countries to observe the upcoming parliamentary elections in the country, the Central Election Commission Chairman Mazahir Panahov said at the organization's meeting today.

He said in general the CEC has registered 2,417 foreign and local observers to observe the elections. Number of observers registered with constituencies has reached 29,546 people.

Panahov said the number of observers in Azerbaijan's parliamentary elections has reached 33,000.  

The parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled for November 7, 2010. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies every five years.
