"This attempt for so-called recognition of "NKR" is doomed to fail"

The willingness of Armenia to recognize the "independence of NKR" is a simple act of pressure on Azerbaijan, and also on the sides who are in the negotiation process, said Azerbaijani political expert Tofig Abbasov.

"I believe that the pro-governmental bloc is not interested in this recognition. This is not the first time they're trying to make it happen. Sargsyan's team uses so-called preventive actions in order to ease possible pressure on themselves. Considering that the negotiation process continues to decline and international powers try out new methods to keep it up, this attempt for so-called recognition doomed to fail", Abbasov pointed out.

"Even if hypothetically, Armenia recognizes the "independence of the separatist Nagorno Karabakh Republic", it would be clear evidence of a direct involvement of Yerevan in the separatist movement", Abbasov noted.
