Azerbaijani ambassador to U.S. visiting Nebraska

The International Conference on theme “The United States and Eurasian countries – business cooperation” took place in Omaha (Nebraska) on October 11-12.
The conference was organized by the Eurasia Business and Research Center under the support of Omaha city mayor Jim Sattle and the administration of Creighton University.

The conference was dedicated to the development of ties between businesses, scientific and research public of Nebraska and Eurasia. Representatives of the Embassies of Azerbaijan, Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Poland, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, members of the Unites States Congress, Ministry of Trade of the United States and other organizations attended the event.

Addressing the conference, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the United States Yashar Aliyev described economic achievements of Azerbaijan, the investment climate in the country, its large-scale infrastructure projects, tourist potential, successful cooperation with the United States in the field of energy, information and communication technologies, agriculture and transport. Mayor of Omaha Jim Suttle presented the Azeri Ambassador the key to the city of Omaha.

As part of the visit to Nebraska, the Ambassador held a wide range of meetings with U.S. Senator for Nebraska Ben Nelson, mayor of Omaha Jim Suttle, Vice President of the Private Investment Corporation of the United States (OPIC), heads of the Universities and different companies of Nebraska, including Valmont, Chief, Lindsay, Behlen, and financial holding The Burlington Capital Group.
