Armenians' attempts to carry out settlement activities in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan pursue political goals, New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) Deputy Executive Secretary, MP Mubariz Gurbanli said in an interview with the party's official website.
"In fact, Armenia has a small population to carry out settlement policy even within the country. So, we can say that Armenia's attempts to build houses in these areas [occupied territory of Azerbaijan] pursue purely political motives. By this way the Armenian authorities try to demonstrate to the world the density of population in these areas," Gurbanli said.
Gurbanli said Armenia commits trespasses in the occupied Azerbaijani territories. It destroys historical monuments, pollutes the ecosystem and tries to achieve illegal settlement of people.
Azerbaijan will have enough to say to state its position when the assessment mission submits the revealed facts during the discussions within the OSCE, Gurbanli added.
"Armenians' settlement policy demonstrated that they oppose settlement of the conflict and are against the peace talks. The Azerbaijani side will present the facts, and once again state that these activities counteract the international law," he said.
