12 October 2010 [16:07] - TODAY.AZ
Socintern Secretary General Luis Ayala believes resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict can lead to a positive changes in the region and help to create an atmosphere of peace and stability.
The settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was the focus of the regional conference of the Socintern Commission for the CIS, the Caucasus and Black Sea region, which completed its work on Tuesday in Baku.

Following the outcome of the conference, the Azerbaijani and Armenian sides were asked to prepare their proposals on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, which will be presented at the meeting of the Socintern Congress in Paris on Nov.15-16, Ayala said at the press conference after the Baku meeting.

The Socintern will develop a resolution on settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict on the basis of these proposals, he said.

The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict should be seen today in a new context, Ayala said. "The countries are changing, both Azerbaijan and Armenia are not the same as they were, for example, 20 years ago," he said.
