
“Azerbaijan is a very interesting country for the Czech Republic. We are interested in development of relations both within European Union and bilaterally”, said visiting Chairman of the Czech Republic Senate's committee on European Union affairs Ludek Sefzig during the meeting with First Deputy Chairman of the Milli Majlis, chairman of the parliament`s standing commission for security and defense Ziyafat Asgarov on Tuesday.
Asgarov briefed the Czech official on the committee's activity and its cooperation with the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
He stressed “Azerbaijan is an associate member of the NATO PA and actively attends the organization's events”.
Asgarov said during the spring session of the Milli Majlis Azerbaijan's Military Doctrine has been adopted, adding “the Doctrine is open document and everybody can be familiarized with it”.
Sefzig stressed Azerbaijan is interesting country for Czechia.
The sides also exchanged views over prospects for development of interparliamentary relations.
