Armenian Defense Ministry confirms captivity of Azerbaijani serviceman

Armenian defense ministry has responded to an inquiry by the International Committee of Red Cross related to Azerbaijani army's serviceman Roman Huseynov, Spokeswoman for the ICRC Office in Baku Ilaha Huseynova said.

Armenian defense ministry confirmed captivity of Azerbaijan army's 25-year-old lance sergeant Roman Huseynov.

Huseynova also added that the ICRC representation in Armenia has made efforts to meet with the captive.

According to Armenian media, Azerbajani army's lance sergeant Roman Huseynov was taken captive on the contact line of troops on Aug. 27.

Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry said most likely Huseynov was taken captive after he lost his way.

The Ministry investigates the causes of the captivity.
