Azerbaijan-Germany ties discussed in Milli Majlis

Members of the Azerbaijan-Germany inter-parliamentary friendship group have met today chairman of Azerbaijan-Germany Forum, Azerbaijan's honorary council in Stuttgart Otto Hauser and member of Bundestag Thomas Bareib.
Member of Azerbaijan-Germany inter-parliamentary friendship group Rovshan Rzayev briefed the visitors on the history of the relationship between the two countries.

He praised the Azerbaijan-Germany ties. Rzayev noted the Azerbaijan parliament was interested in establishing closer cooperation with Germany's legislative body.

He also underlined the importance of bilateral cooperation in cultural, economic and education spheres. Rzayev also thanked the Bundestag as it adopted last year a resolution supporting Azerbaijan's territorial integrity.

For his part, Otto Hauser said during his every visit to Baku he sees rapid development in the city.

According to him, the number of Bundestag members, who support Azerbaijan, increases. “We consider Azerbaijan as our partner. There are a lot of people in Germany who want to visit Azerbaijan. He particularly praised what had been done in Azerbaijan to promote democracy.

Thomas Bareib said Azerbaijan and Germany had great potential to boost the bilateral cooperation in all spheres. He hailed the economic development in Azerbaijan. “Germany is keen on economic cooperation with Azerbaijan.

Bareib underlined “Azerbaijan is not only a strategic partner for us, but also the closest friend.”
