TurkPA's official website presented in Baku

A ceremony of presentation of website (www.turk-pa.org) of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries (TyurkPA) was held in Baku today.

Detailed information on the website was provided at the ceremony held in the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan.

The website operates in six languages - Azerbaijani, English, Russian, Turkish, Kazakh and Kyrgyz. The seven sections of the website contain information about TurkPA, the structure of the organization, the date of creation, the information about its members and their activities.

Official documents adopted during the period of the organization's activity can be found on the website.

The Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries (TurkPA) was founded on Nov. 21, 2008 under an agreement signed by the heads of parliaments of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey in Istanbul at the Dolmabahce Palace.

Baku hosted the TurkPA's first plenary meeting on Sept. 29, 2009.

The Assembly's Secretariat is located in Baku. The Assembly has the status of international organization.

The TurkPA's main goal is mutual support of the Turkic-speaking countries in international organizations, as well as exchange of experience in legislative processes. The Assembly was also established to preserve the language, culture and history in the Turkic-speaking countries, to promote political, economic and cultural ties between the organization's member countries.
