The Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-Speaking Countries (TurkPA) announced plans today to observe the elections in its member states.
The TurkPA secretariat sent a formal request to Turkey to observe the upcoming referendum in the country on Sept. 12, TurkPA Secretary General Ramil Hasanov told journalists today.
TurkPA also sent requests to monitor the parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan in October and in Azerbaijan in November. The organization is still waiting for an invitation from Azerbaijan.
TurkPA, founded in mid-2009, brings together Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
