24 August 2010 [17:10] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijani ruling party is satisfied with its MP corps, represented in the Parliament, NAP Deputy Chairman, Executive Secretary Ali Ahmadov told journalists today.
"We are pleased with MP corps representing the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) in the Parliament. Every MP honorably performs his/her duties. MPs from the NAP showed fruitful activity in  preparation and discussion of bills, holding events outside the Parliament and addressing voters' problems," Ahmadov added.

The parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled for November 7, 2010. Previous parliamentary elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies.

"On the other hand, the NAP's members have increased over the last five years. Young people who are NAP memebrs are very active in country's political life. Their candidacies will be considered when selecting candidates from the NAP," he said.

NAP was founded in 1992 by national leader Heydar Aliyev, when he was chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan. Now, President Ilham Aliyev heads the organization.
