Azerbaijan's former ambassador meets Pakistani president

Madatli conveyed President Ilham Aliyev's condolence to Asif Ali Zardari on heavy human loss as a result of a plane crash in the country. The diplomat said during his tenure he had made efforts towards boosting the relationship between Azerbaijan and Pakistan. Madatli underscored the importance of Pakistani government's support for Azerbaijan on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

On behalf of President Ilham Aliyev, the diplomat invited the Pakistani leader to Azerbaijan.

President Asif Ali Zardari, in turn, expressed his satisfaction with the invitation, saying he wishes to visit Azerbaijan. On the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, the President said his country's stance on the issue remains and will remain unchanged.

President Zardari also thanked Madatli for his contribution to development of relations between the two countries.
