Ilham Aliyev received director-general of UN industrial development organization

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Kandeh Yumkella, Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) on June 29, AzerTAc state news agency reported.
Yumkella said his visit to Baku aimed to discuss with state and government officials the prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and UNIDO. He praised the development of non-oil sector in Azerbaijan, noting his organization was interested in cooperation in this field.

President Ilham Aliyev said Azerbaijan had achieved great progress in all fields, particularly, in economy. Azerbaijani leader noted developing non-oil sector was among key priorities for his country.

The Head of State said a second regional development program will be carried out until 2013 in the country, noting it would create wide opportunities for realization of new infrastructural projects. Aliyev expressed hope the Azerbaijan-UNIDO cooperation would further expand.
