Stratfor president George Friedma: U.S. to continue to strengthen relations with Azerbaijan

U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates's visit and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's expected visit to Baku is connected with the important role of Azerbaijan as an energy-rich country, and geopolitical location in the region, the U.S analytic center Stratfor president, professor George Friedman said.

Friedman said that the U.S. will continue to strengthen relations with Azerbaijan. "The U.S. has no specific position on Azerbaijan because, given the structure of the region, all depends on the U.S relations with Russia, Iran and Turkey," Friedman told media.
