Azerbaijani parliament's speaker meets German delegation

On May 31, Speaker of the Azerbaijan Parliament Ogtay Asadov met German delegation led by Ralf Brauksiepe, Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.
Asadov said his country attaches significant importance to cooperation with Germany and integration into Europe. He noted President Ilham Aliyev's visit to Germany had contributed to boosting relationship between the two countries.

The speaker expressed hope that the German delegation's current visit would contribute to expanding cooperation between relevant ministries of Azerbaijan and Germany.

Touching upon the bilateral economic cooperation, Asadov underlined the two countries had great opportunities to increase the volume of trade turnover even more. Asadov also hailed the current level of cooperation between Azerbaijan Milli Majlis and German Bundestag.

He also briefed the delegation members on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, underlining the dispute puts obstacles to Azerbaijan's integration into Europe.

Ralf Brauksiepe, in turn, said his country was keen on development of cooperation with Azerbaijan. He noted his country was ready to share its experience with Azerbaijan on elimination of unemployment.
