27 May 2010 [10:13] - TODAY.AZ
Now it is difficult to sat when the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will end, but the final step will see Azerbaijani flag fly over Khankandi again, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov briefed the media on May 26.
"It is necessary to hold elections with the participation of the two communities, which should determine the further status within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan," he said.

According to the minister, he will meet with the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs in early June.

"We will discuss results of the meeting of co-chairs with Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, which was held in Brussels in May," Mammadyarov said.

According to him, the Azerbaijani side should discuss the next step of the negotiation process with the co-chairs, if only the Armenian side agrees with the updated Madrid principles.

Commenting on Barack Obama's nominating Matthew Bryza as an ambassador to Azerbaijan, the foreign minister said that it was approved by the Azerbaijani side, but for Bryza's appointment of an ambassador, certain procedures should take place in the U.S. Senate.
