Belarusian president intends to pay official visit to Azerbaijan

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko plans to soon pay an official visit to Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Belarus Ali Nagiyev was quoted as saying by BELTA.
"President Lukashenko will visit Azerbaijan in the coming days," Nagiyev said at the news conference in Minsk.

He said the visit should provide a major impetus to further development of the Belarus-Azerbaijan relations. Nagiyev believes there are no issues in any sphere, including political, economic and humanitarian cooperation, which Belarus and Azerbaijan can resolve.

Speaking about Lukashenko's forthcoming Baku visit, Nagiyev said the two countries' leaders will discuss a wide range of issues during their meeting. Nagiyev did not rule out that the presidents will mull cooperation in the energy sector. He stressed that Azerbaijan is open for cooperation and ready to participate in various projects, including Nabucco, Odessa-Brody and etc." But those states that are interested in this, must make a choice," Nagiyev said.

Regarding the possible cooperation between Belarus and Azerbaijan in the energy sector, Nagiyev said the countries' experts have already discussed this issue. Representatives of the ministries of industry and economy, and Petroleum Corporation were engaged in the talks.

"There are no issues there. The sides must come to the point of contact that will be economically beneficial to both countries," Nagiyev said.
