“Opening of the Consulate General of Azerbaijan to Yekaterinburg will contribute to the strengthening and intensification of relations between Azerbaijan and Russia”, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu said. According to him, the opening of the Azerbaijani consulate in the capital of Ural is a remarkable event.

“Azerbaijani consulate in Yekaterinburg is among over 14 consulates here including those of the United states, France, China, CIS and others. All consuls attended the inauguration of Azerbaijan’s consulate. Our consul general Sultan Gasimov, who was appointed by President Ilham several months ago, was welcomed very well by the consular corps. It raises hopes that our relations with Russia are about to achieve the level of strategic partnership indeed”, Polad Bulbuloglu said.

“Relations between Azerbaijan and Sverdlovsk oblast develop very successfully and have very good outlooks. The opening of the General Conculate is a historical event. It will give a renewed impetus to these relations”, Consul General Sultan Gasimov said. Yekaterinburg is the Russia's third city where Azerbaijan opened its diplomatic mission.
