Russian Diplomatic Academy holds event on Azerbaijan's contribution to WWII

An event dedicated to Azerbaijan's contribution to War World II took place in the Diplomatic Academy of Russian Foreign Affairs Ministry.
Rector of the academy Alexander Panov said it is difficult to overestimate a contribution of Azerbaijani people to the victory.

“The Victory Day is widely celebrated both in Russia and Azerbaijan and we battled side by side with wonderful sons of Azerbaijan”, said Mr. Panov.

Rector said the representatives of Azerbaijan are best of best in the diplomatic academy, and they struggle for friendship and neighborly relations between Azerbaijan and Russia.

Azerbaijan`s Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbul oglu gave the detailed information about contribution of Azerbaijani people to the victory in the World War II, about great importance of Azerbaijani hydrocarbons in the war and the scientific discoveries.

He said over 600,000 men went up the line and more than half killed in the battles, many of them released the Soviet Republics, the European countries and became the twice hero of the USSR. It is necessary to bring the realities about the war to the young people, said Bulbul oglu.

Ambassador also said today, the sovereign Azerbaijan is at war with Armenia, which occupied 20% territories of Azerbaijan and over million citizens became refugees and IDPs. At present, the peaceful talks are carried out within OSCE Minsk group, including Russia.

We try to take our lands back by peaceful means, but should not forget that patience may exhaust, said Polad Bulbul oglu. On behalf of Azerbaijani veterans living in Moscow, the well-known writer and public figure Abdul Huseynov presented his book “The echo of war” to the library of the Diplomatic Academy.
