Azerbaijani President receives Czech delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Friday Czech delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Kohout.
The Head of State said bilateral relations between the two countries are developing successfully in various spheres. President Ilham Aliyev noted European Union-Azerbaijan relationship and “our regional cooperation” are issues of mutual interest for the two countries.

The President expressed hope that Jan Kohout's visit to Azerbaijan would contribute to expanding relationship between the two countries even more. Aliyev stressed the importance of opening of Czech Republic's embassy in Baku and described it as an important element of bilateral ties. Kohout, in turn, said this visit creates good opportunity to discuss issues regarding bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Czechia.

Jan Kohout pointed out that relations with Azerbaijan are of strategic charcater for Czechia. He also underscored the role of the Azerbaijan President's visit to the Czech Republic in 2009 for strengthening of relations between the two countries.
